Raw Power Recipe of the Month
Sweet Balls
- 1 cup raw almond butter
- 1-2 tablespoons raw honey (you could try agave syrup if you don't use honey)
- 1/4 cup tocotrienols
Mix in a bowl, then knead a bit and start rolling into balls. Kids (and adults!) can eat as-is, or the balls can be rolled in any of the following:
- shredded coconut
- seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, poppy)
- raisins
- crushed nuts (pistachios are particularly yummy)
For another variation, this time we cut back the tocotrienols and added 1-2 tablespoons raw cacao powder.
Can be kept in the fridge for several days (in fact, they are even better cold) and in the freezer for several weeks.
Note from Jolie: My lovely Grandma Lela used to make us kids peanut butter balls for treats. I wanted to recreate her recipe and have found that I can use tocotrienol powder in place of dried milk powder. My kids love these sweet balls - making them and eating them. Enjoy!
