In this new column, Thor Bazler (author of Raw Power!: The Raw-Food Diet, Superfoods, and Building Strength and Muscle Naturally) answers your monthly questions.

Question #1, from Jacquelyn: "Hi Thor, I've lost a lot of muscle tone since turning raw and it's killing me, I'm starting to look too thin. Do you know of a good vegan protein powder?"

My personal opinion on some of the other raw vegan protein powders out there:
- the "raw" brown rice protein products are nasty tasting, to me they taste like chemicals - and they start from brown rice syrup, which is cooked as cooked can be
- the sprout-based protein products also taste horrible to me, and they have an affinity for water, so you need to drink a lot of water throughout the day to stay hydrated (and I'm too busy to drink water all day!)

I know I may seem biased on this one, but the Raw Power protein blends are the only ones I like. I sometimes eat the powder right out the container with a spoon. Yum!
Be sure you're eating enough calories every day as well. Very important if you're thinking you're too thin.
Eat a high-quality raw protein product(s), eat enough healthy calories, and do some type of resistance training 3-4 times a week. That'll do the trick."

Question #2, from Debbie: "Hi Thor, I am looking for a drink that I can juice in my juicer that is easy and quick and inexpensive and easy to swallow...something full of greens that I can prepare twice a day. I want to do a detox....the Master Cleanse and substitute a green health juice instead of a detox tea. Any suggestions?"

Thor: "Kale, celery, cucumber, cilantro, parsley. Juice all that. I guarantee it will cleanse you and help with detox."

Question #3, from JD: "Hi Thor. Any recommendations for post-workout fueling up?"

Thor: "Here's my post workout smoothie, be sure to drink it within 30 minutes after your workout: Blend two organic bananas, 2-3 scoops of Raw Power protein powder, half a bag of frozen, organic berries (blueberries or raspberries usually work best), handful of organic goji berries, and a tbsp of a dark green superfood powder such as Vitamineral Green. Blend all that with pure water to desired consistency. This smoothie contains approximately 20 grams of protein and little to no fat and has countless health benefits.
