Item #0060: Olive leaf extract is a totally natural product that has been used for microbial challenges (viral, bacterial, fungal) and parasites (both small and large) as well as overall immune support. Olive Leaf Extract can be taken as a preventive measure, to nutritionally support keeping harmful microbes at bay, and also to nutritionally support the elimination of harmful microbes in acute situations.

According to James R. Privitera, M.D., olive leaf brings about:

"A critical interference with certain amino acid production processes necessary for the vitality of a specific virus, bacterium or microbe;

"Direct penetration into infected host cells and irreversible inhibition of microbial replication;

"Direct stimulation of phagocytosis as an immune system response to germs of all types."

Olive leaf extract has also been shown to destroy or inhibit the growth of many tapeworm, hookworm, flatworm, and roundworm parasites. According to Dr. Morton Walker, in his book "Olive Leaf Extract - Nature's Antibiotic," the beneficial effects of olive leaf extract are enhanced when the body is in an alkaline state. Most people have acidic body chemistries. Ways to make the body more alkaline are by eating fresh fruits (even ripe citrus), vegetables (and their fresh, frozen or properly dried juices), and certain grains (quinoa, amaranth, millet, teff, spelt).
